This vineyard covers only a small part of the south estern end of Buschenberg. The name reveals the location of this vineyard: it is nestled between the valleys.
Coming from Dürnstein, the Buschenberg represents the western cornerstone of the Liebenberg-Kaiserberg-Buschenberg triumvirate. Paragneiss with amphibolite occlusions is found at all three locations. The profile was taken in the Zwerithaler footslope section. The parent material consists of hillside debris with alternating layers of dark material and light calcareous material. Like at the foot of the Liebenberg, the material is estimated to be approx. 20 million years old, originating from a landslide.
