Description

The Schön vineyard directly adjoins the Bruck vineyard and, especially with Grüner Veltliner, demonstrates the quality that can be achieved in the Spitzer Graben.

Soil Profile Schön

The impressive terrace location of Schön lies in the immediate vicinity of the Bruck vineyard. Instead of the granodiorite gneiss and amphibolite found in the Bruck vineyard, paragneiss dominates in the Schön vineyards. The soils are also deeper and more nutrient-rich. The profile shows a vineyard soil from a more elevated terrace on slope debris. The matrix is loamified, with embedded paragneiss stones. The deeply cultivated topsoil is enriched with humus to a depth of 35 to 40 cm.
