Where does the Wine Spring take place?

  • In total, around 100 wineries will open their doors.

Our app myWachau helps you locate the wineries in each town.

What is included in the Wine Spring wristband and where can I get it?

  • The wristband allows you to taste wines at all participating wineries.
  • In addition, around 20 guest winemakers from Carnuntum will bring their own wines for tasting.

  • Advance ticket sales online: starts beginning of March 2026
  • Tourist information offices in Krems, Spitz, and Melk: wristbands are available approximately 2 weeks before the Wine Spring.
  • On-site: wristbands can also be purchased at all participating wineries on both days (sufficient supply available).

How do I get from village to village?

With the Wine Spring wristband, you can use the following transportation free of charge:

  • Public buses between Krems and Melk (left and right bank of the Danube), including additional shuttle buses
  • The bike and pedestrian ferry in Dürnstein (wait times may occur due to limited capacity)
  • The car ferries in Weißenkirchen and Spitz

The exact schedules will be available approximately four weeks before the event on our website under “Verkehrspläne”

Alternative tickets for non-tasting visitors

Visitors to the Wachauer Weinfrühling 2026 who will not participate in tastings (e.g., companions, drivers, children, and teenagers) do not need to purchase the €40 tasting wristband.

As an alternative, the Wachau Day Ticket is available.
It costs €12 for adults and €6 for children and teenagers up to 15 years old and is valid for one calendar day.
The day ticket allows travel on regional bus lines 715, 717, 718, 719, 720, and 721, all seven Krems City Bus lines, and the Danube ferries in Dürnstein, Weißenkirchen, and Spitz.

Alternatively, single tickets for public transport can also be purchased.

Tickets can be purchased online starting in March or at the evening box office (sufficient supply available).
Unfortunately, table reservations for the Steinfeder Night cannot be offered.

How do I find accommodation for my group?
