Thomas Özelt and his wife Karin have big plans. Their classic Heurigen on the main town square in Spitz is currently undergoing a transformation into an ambitious high quality winery. This transformation is also manifest in the additional parcels of land which the couple has purchased in some of the best terraces of the Wachau. Their vines grow for ex.  in the Achspoint and the Pluris, but additional rows of vines have also been bought in territories further away from Spitz, in Wösendorf. The couple’s aim is to present a heterogeneous and well-defined cross-section that showcases the specificities of their diverse terroirs, which they hope to achieve through a natural winemaking processes. They produce wines in all categories and in various different styles. Their Goldhaube Sekt is a fine example of an excellent sparkling wine that is made from their finest grape material. All wines can be sampled four times a year in the couple’s Heurigen. Guests who wish to stay longer may rent one of the four double-rooms. From the roof-terrace of the vineyard a stunning view opens onto Spitz, the Danube and the surrounding vineyards.
