Description

"Langen Zung" or "Langen Zug" designates a narrow strip at the foot of the Loibenberg, which is ideally suited for Grüner Veltliner vines.

Soil Profile Langen Zung

The Langen Zug vineyard section lies at the foot of the Loibenberg. Erosion and gravity have led to the formation of deep soils consisting of transported Gföhl gneiss material deposits with some loess. Buried in the middle of the profile, a dark humus horizon favouring root growth can be recognised. The extensive rooting zone ensures a balanced water and nutrient supply. In vineyards at the foot of the slopes, Veltliner reaches its full potential and delivers strong, full-bodied wines.
